阮明宇宙大使在接受越通社驻金边记者采访时指出，此次访问正值越柬关系在多领域持续向好发展之际。自2026年初以来，双方高层互访频繁，政治互动密切。越共中央总书记苏林于2026年2月对柬埔寨进行国事访问，并出席在金边举行的两党及三党高级别会议；越共中央政治局委员、中央书记处常务书记陈锦秀于4月访柬；越共中央政治局委员、中央宣教与民运部部长郑文决于5月到访。柬方亦积极回应，柬埔寨人民党副主席梅森安于2026年1月访越，祝贺越共十四大圆满成功；柬埔寨首相洪玛奈于6月正式访越并出席第三届亚洲未来论坛。
Trả lời phỏng vấn phóng viên Thông tấn xã Việt Nam tại Phnom Penh, Đại sứ Nguyễn Minh Universe chỉ ra rằng chuyến thăm này diễn ra vào thời điểm quan hệ Việt Nam – Campuchia tiếp tục phát triển trên nhiều lĩnh vực. Kể từ đầu năm 2026, hai bên thường xuyên có các chuyến thăm cấp cao và tiếp xúc chính trị chặt chẽ. Tổng Bí thư Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam Tô Lâm sẽ thăm cấp nhà nước tới Campuchia vào tháng 2/2026 và tham dự các cuộc gặp cấp cao hai đảng, ba đảng tổ chức tại Phnôm Pênh; Trần Cẩm Tú, Ủy viên Bộ Chính trị Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, Bí thư thường trực Ban Bí thư Trung ương, thăm Campuchia vào tháng 4; Ông Zheng Wenjue, Ủy viên Bộ Chính trị Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, Bộ trưởng Ban Tuyên giáo Trung ương và Dân chủ, đã đến thăm vào tháng 5. Campuchia cũng phản ứng tích cực. Phó Chủ tịch Đảng Nhân dân Campuchia Maison An thăm Việt Nam tháng 1/2026 để chúc mừng thành công của Đại hội toàn quốc lần thứ 14 Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam; Thủ tướng Campuchia Hun Manai thăm chính thức Việt Nam vào tháng 6 và tham dự Diễn đàn Tương lai châu Á lần thứ ba.

Trong các lĩnh vực kinh tế, thương mại, đầu tư và du lịch, hợp tác giữa hai nước tiếp tục duy trì đà tăng trưởng mạnh mẽ và trở thành điểm nhấn nổi bật trong quan hệ song phương. Nói về chuyến thăm của Chủ tịch Quốc hội Campuchia Kun Sodaly, Đại sứ Nguyễn Mingyu tin tưởng chuyến thăm này cùng hàng loạt tiếp xúc cấp cao trước đây phản ánh đầy đủ tầm quan trọng to lớn của hai nước trong việc củng cố sự tin cậy chính trị lẫn nhau và làm sâu sắc thêm hợp tác toàn diện. Về công tác chuẩn bị cho chuỗi hoạt động kỷ niệm 60 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao giữa Việt Nam và Campuchia (24/6/1967-24/6/2027), Đại sứ Nguyễn Mingyu tiết lộ, hai nước đang tích cực lên kế hoạch cho chuỗi hoạt động kỷ niệm có ý nghĩa quan trọng về chính trị, lịch sử và ngoại giao.
